Construction started in 2019 with Holmes Homes, Sullivan Homes, CareFree Homes and AJ Construction working as the featured residential building contractors.  Cole West is the featured contractor for the nightly rental units.  Prices range from the high $200's to up over $700,000.  Auburn Hills is the first residential neighborhood within Desert Color and Desert Color Resort is the neighborhood zoned for nightly rentals.   

Desert Hills High and Middle Schools have consistently been recognized among the top schools in the area for their excellence in academics, arts and athletics.  These schools were opened in 2008 and are the 2nd newest in Washington County.  The school's nickname is the Thunder and their mascot is Thor.  School colors are black and gold.  Desert Hills High School encompasses grades 10-12 while the Middle School encompasses grades 8-9.  Sunrise Ridge Intermediate ecompasses grades 6-7 while Bloomington Hills Elementary is K-5.  The school year runs from mid August until late May.
